Relieve Care is looking for a dedicated caring individual to join our team. Our Direct Support Professional (DSP) have the ability to assist persons served with developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and behavioral concerns in a group residential setting providing assistance and encouragement to work towards outcomes and goals.
This is a Live-In position. Our live-in positions are from 2 to 4, 24-hour days in residential four (4) client’s home; No need to drive back and forth to work daily! Wage/ Schedule
$340.00/day, Live-In Direct Support Professional must be available to work a 24-hour shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job duties and responsibilities of the position vary to meet the needs of person served but may include:
- Assist clients with daily living activities as outlined in their care plan.
- Pass medications to individuals as scheduled
- Provide personal companionship, remaining actively engaged with each client by providing ongoing social & emotional support, while having FUN!
- Chaperone and assist with scheduled community outings including shopping for personal care needs, and more.
- Facilitate mealtime routines, prepares meals and snacks according to instructions
- Performs light housekeeping activities
- Maintain a healthy, safe, and comfortable living environment.
- Communicate with clients with patience, compassion, and caring demeanor.
- Maintain continued vigilance monitoring and evaluating all physical, mental, and environmental changes to client’s safety and wellbeing.
- Manage and document all observations of any changes in client behavior on a frequent basis, allowing adjustments to care plan.
Required Skills, Education and Certifications:
- At least one year experience working as a Direct Support Professional / PCA or equivalent
- Empathy, compassion and kindness a MUST, and a willingness to assist person served with their varying needs
- Ability to use sound judgement and remain calm in a variety of situations
- Must be reliable, dependable and on time
- Basic computer skills as well as overall technical savviness
- Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a background check
- Ability to drive, reliable transportation, and a valid driver's license
